A 2d Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (AM) and 2d Battalion, 502d Infantry regiment search and clear operation in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Province. Elements conducted reconnaissance in force and detailed search and operations were conducted in the BACH MA region, southern PHU LOC and northern HIEU DUC Districts and the western portion of the Elephant Valley to destroy the 4th NVA Regiment. Light enemy contacts were encountered as enemy elements avoided allied operations in the area.
